Grain delivered to a company licensed by the Canadian Grain Commission is covered by the Commission's payment protection. At a licensed primary elevator you can also ask for the Commission to set the grade and dockage, within 7 days of delivery. Delivering to a buyer without a licence, none of that applies.

The list has licensed elevators only. A buyer without a Commission licence, such as a feedlot or a crusher that isn't licensed, isn't on it, and some sites appear under the company's legal name rather than the sign on the bin.
