Terms of service
The deal for using GrainPosition, in plain words. Using the app means you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy.

Who you’re dealing with
GrainPosition is run by Ruslan Glick in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada (“I” below). You can reach me at hello@grainposition.com.
What GrainPosition does
It keeps a record of your grain contracts, bins, loads, settlements and crop plan, and works out figures from them: what is sold and unsold, average prices, what is still owed and what was paid. It can read contracts, scale tickets, settlements and spreadsheets to fill in forms for you to check.
The free calculators and the demo on the website can be used by anyone, without an account.
What it doesn’t do
- No advice. GrainPosition doesn’t give market, financial, legal or tax advice, and doesn’t tell you when to sell or what price to take. Decisions about your grain are yours.
- Check what it reads. Reading a photo, PDF or spreadsheet can get things wrong, which is why every field is shown to you before it’s saved. You are responsible for checking it, and for what your records say.
- Your contracts and settlements are the record. If GrainPosition and a contract, ticket or statement from a buyer disagree, the buyer’s document is what counts.
- Calculators are estimates. They use standard figures and the numbers you enter. Your buyer’s schedules, and a bin maker’s charts, take precedence.
Early access
GrainPosition is in early access: it works, it is still changing, and features may be added, changed or removed. It is free for now.
I work to keep it running and your records safe, but I can’t promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Export your records from time to time (Settings, then Export everything as CSV) so you always have your own copy.
Your account
- You sign in with a link sent to your email, so keep your email account secure. Anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
- Use GrainPosition for your own farm’s records, or for a farm you are authorised to keep records for.
- Don’t try to break it, overload it, get at other people’s records, or use it for anything unlawful. Photo and spreadsheet reading have a daily limit so the service stays fair and affordable.
Your records
- They are yours. You give me permission to store and process them only to run GrainPosition for you.
- They are never sold or shared, never pooled with other farms, and never used as market data. The privacy policy lists every outside service that handles them.
- Take them with you as CSV files at any time.
- Delete them at any time, from Settings, then Delete my account.
Fees
GrainPosition is free during early access. Before anything is ever charged, you will be told the price and the terms that go with it, and asked to agree. Nothing starts on its own. Farms that join during early access keep the founding price of $249 CAD a year for as long as their subscription runs without a break, as the pricing section says.
Ending
- You can stop using GrainPosition and delete your account whenever you like.
- I may suspend an account that breaks these terms, and will tell you why, unless the law stops me.
- If I ever close GrainPosition, I’ll give you at least 60 days’ notice by email, so you can export your records.
Limits
As far as the law allows, GrainPosition is provided as it is, and I’m not responsible for losses that come from relying on it, including decisions to sell, store or deliver grain, or a misread document you saved. If I am found responsible for something, my total responsibility is limited to what you paid me for GrainPosition in the 12 months before. During free early access, that is nothing. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be taken away.
Changes and the law that applies
If these terms change in a way that matters, I’ll update the date at the top and email you before the change applies to you. These terms are governed by the laws of Manitoba and of Canada.
