What these figures are
Every week the Canadian Grain Commission reports what moved into and out of the licensed elevator system. Deliveries are what farmers in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia delivered to primary and process elevators, plus producer cars. Exports are what left licensed port terminals for other countries. Both run from August 1, the start of the crop year.
They show how fast the crop is moving, not what it's worth or when to sell.
Your own deliveries, contract by contract
GrainPosition puts each scale ticket against its contract, so you see what's delivered and what's still owed on every contract, and checks each settlement against the contract and the tickets. Free during early access.

Questions
Where do these figures come from?
The Canadian Grain Commission's Grain Statistics Weekly, published under the Open Government Licence – Canada. Each week it reports what went into and out of the licensed elevator system, by grain. This page shows the crop year's running totals since August 1.
What counts as a delivery?
Grain farmers delivered into the licensed system: to primary elevators and to process elevators such as crushers, and grain loaded into producer cars, in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. Grain sold straight to a feedlot, another farm or an unlicensed buyer isn't in it.
What counts as an export?
Grain shipped abroad from licensed port terminals: Vancouver, Prince Rupert, Thunder Bay, Churchill and the St. Lawrence. Grain exported straight from a primary or process elevator, by rail to the United States or in containers, isn't counted here, so these are lower than Canada's total exports.
How often is it updated?
Weekly, when the Grain Commission publishes its report. The week the figures run to is shown with the table.
Can I track my own deliveries?
Yes. In GrainPosition each scale ticket goes against its contract, so you see what's delivered and what's still owed on every contract, and each settlement is checked against the contract and the tickets. Free during early access.
